The library supports literacy education with a collections that includes books, audio cassettes, CDs, videos, DVDs and multimedia CD-ROM software. Material for students as well as tutors is located in the ESL/Literacy section on the second floor.

Adult Basic Education helps adults improve literacy, reading, math, and other areas that prepare them for the GED. The English as a Second Language programs include several levels of literacy classes—literacy, family literacy, and the academic or professional program. Citizenship classes are also available. Some classes are free, and are offered at several locations in DuPage County. Volunteer tutors are available in the ESL classes.
