Wheaton’s
House Walk a Fall Favorite
The Center for History has great things in store
for their 29th annual House Walk on Friday, October 10th.
Don’t miss this chance to step inside some of Wheaton’s
finest homes, as well as Trinity Episcopal Church. From 10:00 a.m.
until 8:00 p.m. visitors can tour 405 West Harrison, 211 West Jefferson,
211 West Franklin, 304 North Gary and Trinity Church at 130 North
West.
You’ll be intrigued by the European flair
of 405 West Harrison; the lively colors at 304 North Gary; fitting
a new home into an established neighborhood at 211 West Franklin;
the loving restoration at 211 West Jefferson; and Trinity Episcopal
Church’s beautiful 126-year-old chapel on North West Street.
This year’s House Walk features
the floral and decorative accents of Expressions Flower and Gift
Shop, Hollyhocks, The JB Winterberry Company, P.S. Flowers, Serenade,
Winfield Flower Shop, and The English Garden in Elmhurst.
The Center for History’s two museums will
be open for House Walk attendees free of charge. Open until 7:00
p.m., the Center’s museum at 315 W. Front Street (2nd floor)
features the Fairways, Greens & Clubs Gallery, the
Eastland Gallery exhibit Disaster, Courage & Silence,
and the Wheaton Hall of Fame. The lovely 1887 Queen Anne structure
